About The Ranch

Second Chance Ranch (S.C.R.) is a non-profit , volunteer,equine rescue that provides quality care and placement for horse, donkeys, and ponies in need. Established in 1996, the main goal of The Ranch and its founders Karen and Paul Bacon was to prevent animals from needlessly going to slaughter and to find them loving homes. Joined by a small group of dedicated horsemen
the ranch's programs have continued to grow.

In 1999 alone SCR provided care and placement for 16 animals and assisted many others with their owner educational program as well as working with rescues nationwide.

Second Chance Ranch animals are cared for by a team of dedicated horsemen who volunteer their barns and time to animals in need. Our foster care program has been designed to insure that all donations go directly to the animals care.

Donations and Fund-raisers

It is only through the support of caring people and a handful of fund-raisers held each year that the work we do can continue. All donations are tax deductible, carefully used and gratefully appreciated.
